Tammany Trace/Country Roads Bike Tour
This bicycle tour includes a ride on the rails-to-trails St. Tammany Trace, a beautiful bike path through wooded areas, historic towns and Louisiana's Fountainebleau State Park. It also includes a ride past horse farms and scenic areas on the country roads outside of Abita Springs. These roads are the closest things we have to 'hills' in and around New Orleans, Louisiana.

| 8:30am | Meet at Laid Back Tours shop. Relax with a 2nd cup of coffee or tea as you fill out paperwork and choose your bike and helmet. | |
| 9:00am | St. Tammany Trace Rails-to-Trails Ride From Laid Back, drive or take transportation across to the North shore of Lake Pontchartrain to old Mandeville. Ride the trace, a rails-to-trails bike path. Ride on the trace through Fountainebleau State Park to the town of Lacombe. Then turn around and ride back through Mandeville to the historic town of Abita Springs. | |
| 1:00pm | Lunch at a local Abita Springs restaurant. | |
| 1:45pm | Abita Springs Country Roads Ride After lunch, we cycle the scenic country roads past horse farms in a loop around the outskirts of this beautiful little town. Depending on your desire for milage, this loop can encompass 8.6, 13.4, 18.7 or 28.7 miles. | |
| 4:00pm | If time permits, make a stop the UCM museum and have a short look around this interesting and eccentric museum. Take the Tammany Trace back to old Mandeville. | |
| 5:00pm | Drive your car or take transportation back to New Orleans. | |
| ADDITIONAL TAMMANY/COUNTRY TOUR INFORMATION | |
| GUIDED TOUR: | $135 per person. This price includes tour guide, rental of an excellent quality mountain bike, hybrid or recumbent, and transporting the bicycles to/from tour starting point. |
| SELF-GUIDED TOUR: | $50 per person. This price includes tour maps, direction sheets with restroom stops, points of interest, suggested restaurants and the rental of an excellent quality hybrid bike. Rental of a car bicycle rack is $20. |
| TOUR DATES: | Guided tours of 4 or more persons are booked based availability. Self-guided tours of 2 or more persons are also booked based availability. |
| LUNCH: | Everyone pays for his/her own lunch. The group decides on which restaurant option. |
| TRANSPORTATION: | The starting point for this tour is 40+ miles outside of New Orleans. If you don't have a car, we can make arrangements with transportation company. It will, however, most likely be less expensive to rent a car for the day. |
| MISCELLANEOUS: | All tour guides are licensed by the City of New Orleans. |
| CANCELLATIONS: | No charge for a tour if canceled within 7 days. A cancellation fee of $35 p/p for a tour if canceled in less than 7 days. At our discretion, the cancellation fee can be applied toward a future tour. The full amount for the tour will be charged for a no show, no call. |
